The Spring Semester is here!!

On Monday of this week, the students returned to campus for the spring semester.  This is a time for the volleyball team to get involved in community service activities, perhaps pursue another sport, and of course, WORKOUT.  (It goes without saying that they will also be focused on their academic work.).
We will be having our team banquet to celebrate the 2009 season next Friday.  It will be fun to get together with everyone again, and it's a terrific way to kick off the 2nd semester.

This semester I'm teaching a Squash class (which is a blast!) and helping out with the softball team, as always. With the temperatures the way they are right now (high of 18 degrees today!!), I'm really looking forward to the softball trip to Florida!!  We begin softball on February 15th.

So, in the NFL we have Peyton Manning and Drew Brees left standing.  Excellent. I hope you pay attention to both of them, and how they conduct themselves leading up to the big game, and of course, during the game.  We can learn a lot from them both!
I've also been watching a bit of the Australian Open.  I watched Nadal play Murray and it was a great match...too bad that Nadal had to retire because of his knee injury.  I'm cheering for Henin on the womens side because she has a great story (reaching the final after taking close to 2 yrs. away from the game).  It would be great to see Murray beat Federer on the mens side...but Federer is just so tough.   Both matches should be fun to watch...if you like watching tennis at 2am.

I've also started the P90X workout plan for the 2nd time.  It's incredibly difficult but that's what makes it fun!
In the words of Tony Horton, "you hate it, but you love it"
Exactly.

Until next time.....Upward and Onward.
